MasterDigital Corporation was formed in 1991 to provide state-of-the-art audio restoration and CD mastering services worldwide.

On August 29, 2004, MasterDigital issued a press release announcing the official opening of a new media facility in New Orleans. Exactly one year later, floodwalls holding back Lake Pontchartrain failed, flooding 80% of New Orleans. The dedicated media facility housing MasterDigital and two other media firms was flooded, and MasterDigital was heavily damaged.

New Orleans is still struggling to get back on its feet, and the US Army Corps of Engineers is attempting to repair the flaws in the Corps-designed levee protection system.

MasterDigital has moved to historic Covington, La., just 35 miles north of New Orleans. The business has been rebuilt in this new location, and in many ways the services have been expanded and improved.
