In the late 60's, I was trying to interest producer Allen Toussaint in some lyrics I felt suited for Cyril in view of where he (Cyril) was politically and philosophically at the time. Allen's reply was that Cyril was an artist and he would have to find his own level of expression and until then we shouldn't expect to see or hear his best efforts! A very prophetic assessment!
