Tom Morley and 78RPM
Major & Minor Swing

78RPM - a violin, guitar and string bass trio - is dedicated to preserving the small combo swing sound of the 1930s and 40s. Led by violinist and vocalist Tom Morley, 78RPM has just released its new CD - Major and Minor Swing. The album is a salute to two famous swinging combos: the Nat "King" Cole Trio, and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France, featuring the "Gypsy Jazz" sound of violinist Stephane Grappelli and guitarist Django Reinhardt.

Press

Within weeks of its release, 78RPM's Major & Minor Swing is receiving airplay on radio stations across the Southeast and over 120 stations nationwide on syndicated program, "Bill Miller's Collector's Corner." Tim Laughlin, Jazz Clarinetist/Fantasy Records artist says: "Fantastic. These guys not only know their instruments inside out, they swing harder than anyone I've heard in a long, long time." The Bayside Loafer of Mobile, Alabama says: "This band does an excellent job of reproducing vintage jazz standards from the 1930s and 40s. Believe me, it's jazz . . . early, great, talent-driven, timeless jazz."

Tom Morley violin + vocals, Mike Lambert guitars, Doug Brunt string bass, Pete Wehner drums on tks #2, #6 and 12
