Jim Cullum JazzBand The Real Stuff ![]() Traditional jazz survives in the 1960's as a living, still pungent mode of musical expression largely because of the efforts of men for whom jazz is not a livelihood but a love. Their ranks include such stalwarts as Dr. Edmund Souchon, founder and mainstay of the New Orleans Jazz Club, Joe Mares, E.D. Nunn, George H. Buck and others whose small jazz labels have kept a constant stream of good traditional jazz records flowing into a market dominated largely by music having little or no relationship to the parent of the New Orleans style. And it includes such as the seven Texans who call themselves the Jim Cullum Jazz Band.... Personnel Jim Cullum Jr. cornet, Gene McKinney trombone, Jim Cullum Sr. clarinet, Cliff Gillette piano, Ben Valfrey banjo, Willson Davis tuba, Harvey Kindervater drums. Selections
