Robert Graves Leonard & His Zydeco Louisiana Friends
Luzianne

I suppose that I first became interested in music when I made my first drum set out of quarter inch plywood with a hand saw, a hammer and six penny nails; I made square drums, I was five years old. I would constantly watch my grandmother and grandfather play the piano when my family visited their apartment in Providence, R.I. After lots of begging by me, my dad finally bought an old upright piano for $10.00 which was way out of tune but I tried to practice on it every day after school. Then one night at the age of ten, I was watching the Ed Sullivan show on T.V. with my mom and dad. Myron Floren was a guest and started to play a 120 base accordion. My eyes were glued to the T.V. for the next three minutes. I said "Dad! Dad! What is that thing that man is playing?" I just had to learn how to play accordion....
