Fats Waller was one of the most beloved entertainers of the 20th Century. He packed more music (and more fun) into his 39 years on earth than most people could do in several lifetimes. He left a huge recorded legacy - his records always sold well and were easy to make - his rhythm was a tightly-knit unit capable of knocking out several numbers at a session, usually with minimal rehearsal and seldom requiring more than one take....
